HDS Roof Ventilators

What is the HDS?

Designed and manufactured in Australia, Advantec’s HDS is an innovative roof ventilation system that helps to reduce the level of heat in your roof space and, in doing so, helps you overcome a major hurdle in keeping your home cool in the heat of summer. It provides energy saving solutions in commercial and residential settings and can reduce cooling costs upwards of 20%.

How does it work?

Essentially, the HDS is a fan-based ventilation system that is designed to push warm air out of the roof space of any building. It is controlled thermostatically and is activated when the temperature in the roof space reaches 40 degrees Celsius. The ventilation system disperses hot air and pushes it outside of the house, cooling the roof space until it reaches 28 degrees. This ensures that it is operational on especially hot days, but doesn’t reduce the effectiveness of the building’s insulation on cold days. In fact, the HDS actually has the effect of helping the roof space retain heat in the roof when the temperature is less than 40 degrees.

The HDS is easy to install for both the building professional and the DIY enthusiast. Simply fit, set and forget!

A 290mm slim-line fan is easy to fit in confined spaces and further optimizes airflow characteristics and is connected to 150mm duct, which is used to disperse the air outside. All up, the system takes roughly 20-30 minutes to install and is put in place in the roof with hanging chains and clips.

Depending on the size of the building, we may recommend the use of 2 units. This is generally preferred for houses or commercial premises that are greater than 20 squares.
